SkySwitch and Telo Improve Caller ID for Hosted PBX Resellers

SkySwitch and Telo have partnered to provide enhanced Caller Name lookups to SkySwitch Resellers.

SkySwitch, provider of the ultimate white label platform for hosted telecom resellers, today announced a partnership with Telo for enhanced Caller Name lookup capabilities that yield an industry-leading accuracy rate of over 93%.

The ability to see a caller’s name as part of the Caller ID when you receive a phone call is a service provided by your phone company that is often taken for granted and, just as often, misunderstood. This service (sometimes referred to as CNAM) requires that your phone company query a caller name database to associate a name with the caller’s phone number every time that you receive a call. Errors in caller name are a frequent cause of customer complaints for providers of hosted PBX and UCaaS service.

According to SkySwitch CTO, Blake McKeeby, “the problem stems from the fact that there is no single database that contains the caller name information for all U.S. callers. Because phone companies publish and query caller name information from disparate aggregators, inconsistencies often arise. This means that the caller name you see when you answer a call can be different from the caller name that is seen by someone else. The confusion is compounded by the fact that some cell phone carriers do not publish caller name information at all, resulting in generic names such as ‘wireless caller’ being shown as part of the Caller ID.”

“The inconsistency of caller name results has been a pain point for SkySwitch resellers, who must field calls from end users that often don’t understand the inner workings of the telephone network. So we decided to try to make things better. And, after extensive research we found a shared desire with Telo, creator of the well-known OpenCNAM data service” continued McKeeby.

Brent James, COO for Telo, states that “the collaboration emerged through discussions centered around customer feedback and a shared vision for quality of service. SkySwitch was among a small group of specifically selected carriers to work with Telo to implement improvements to OpenCNAM. By virtue of this product development relationship, OpenCNAM Plus has been able to achieve an increase of its already industry-leading caller name match-rate from 87% to over 93% domestically.”

The improvements in CNAM results have translated to a demonstrable decrease in customer service calls for SkySwitch resellers. According to Guy Fawkes, CEO of Telepath Communications in Tampa, Florida, “SkySwitch listened to my feedback when I informed them about the caller name complaints I was receiving. Ever since they put changes into effect, the complaints have stopped. This is just another example of how SkySwitch helps me to run my business more efficiently.”

SkySwitch Announces Network Expansion

Turn-up of Las Vegas Geo-Node Increases Network Capacity By More Than Twenty-Five Percent

SkySwitch, provider of the ultimate white label platform for hosted telecom resellers, announced a new West Coast point-of-presence today with the availability of their new Las Vegas geo-node. This is the fourth geo-node in the SkySwitch network, adding to the current locations in New York, Dallas, and Minnesota. This node increases network capacity by more than twenty-five percent and provides added flexibility in managing network load.

“While other white label providers are struggling with capacity and reliability issues, this expansion shows that SkySwitch is able to continue meeting the demands of its fast growing base of users,” said Eric Hernaez, Founder and President of SkySwitch.

SkySwitch provides service from geographically diverse locations in order to maximize system resiliency. The new geo-node was introduced without interruption to ongoing operations because the system was designed to expand on the fly. New geo-nodes can be joined to the network, and new server resources can be added to any geo-node, in a way that’s transparent to end users.

In addition to easing network growth, this system architecture has allowed SkySwitch to maintain industry-leading uptime. Unlike other high-availability redundancy schemes, that rely on a primary and failover system, the SkySwitch system is Always Available. That means that SkySwitch provides identical service across multiple nodes in real-time. With seamless and transparent failover between nodes, service disruptions are avoided because customer connections can be automatically transferred to any nodes available in the event of trouble.

SkySwitch chose to deploy the new geo-node at The Lone Mountain Data Center, operated by viawest. The data center, a best-in-class, carrier-neutral facility that received Tier 3 certification by the Uptime Institute, allows SkySwitch to deliver the reliability and stability demanded by its resellers.

“SkySwitch is well positioned to continue the triple-digit growth we have seen in the past twelve months,” concluded Hernaez. “The geographic diversity and ease with which we can increase capacity help to ensure our customers that they do not have to worry about the type of growth related problems that have ensnared other providers in this industry.”

SkySwitch Deploys Software Defined Voice From SimpleWan

SkySwitch network now supports NO-DROP FAILOVER and Encrypted Voice with SD-Voice from SimpleWan

Security and compliance have been hot-button issues for many months in the Hosted PBX and UCaaS market. SkySwitch is pleased to announce that it is the first major UCaaS provider to implement Software Defined Voice (SD-Voice) from SimpleWan that quickly and cost-effectively addresses these issues. Through the use of new SD-Voice features SkySwitch will gain a number of significant advantages over other hosted providers.

  • Unparalleled reliability with NO DROP FAILOVER in the event of a local internet failure.
  • Enhanced security through the creation of a VPN from the customer premise to any SkySwitch Data Center.
  • Voice Encryption from the customer premise to the SkySwitch Data Center, which is necessary to achieve HIPAA compliance.

“Our mission is to constantly innovate and improve our network and partner platform so that our resellers have the fastest possible pathway to profitability,” said Jayson Jones, VP of Business Development at SkySwitch. “The implementation of SD-Voice from SimpleWan enables our resellers to significantly maintain call reliability, even in the event of an internet interruption at a client site. While No-Drop Failover is a key feature enabled by SD-Voice, there are other significant improvements that come along with it, such as voice encryption and improved security.”

Brian Perdue, VP of Sales at SimpleWan commented, “Having a partner like SkySwitch, that always has an eye to the future and is constantly ready to innovate and improve, is important to SimpleWan. The communication with them and their resellers helps us to define and create the features that are needed by this market.”

The SD-Voice features are already implemented in the SkySwitch Network and Platform. They are ready for use by any SkySwitch Reseller with SimpleWan appliances deployed at their customers’ sites. A video recording of the presentation that introduces SD-Voice for the SkySwitch platform can be found here or at the SkySwitch YouTube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCocSv-0W3Ay5pJdOiHNj7Vg.

SkySwitch Gives Resellers an Edge with New Mobility Solution

White Label Resellers Can Now Deliver A Better Mobile UC Experience To Users

Industry research shows the immediate need for the truly unified communication experience delivered by ReachUC. In a recent survey conducted by Canam Research on behalf of Avaya, it was found that 60% of employees spend more than a quarter of their time away from their desk. Plantronics research shows that most SMB employees feel more productive when working away from the office than at the office.

With ReachUC, users access the same communications features from their SIP deskphone, mobile app, or desktop environment. Supported features include VoIP, Video, and GSM calling, SMS and text chat, PBX presence and contact management, web conferencing, fax, and push notifications. The application is available on Apple iOS and Android mobile devices as well as Mac and Windows desktops.

Apple iPhone users benefit from ReachUC support for Apple CallKit, a newly released API by Apple that gives the ReachUC iOS app a native look and feel and allows it to responds appropriately to system-level behaviors such as Do Not Disturb and Answer from Lock Screen. CallKit brings the user experience for iPhone users up to par with Android, which has allowed VoIP apps to access the native dialer for nearly two years.

ReachUC also includes tools that extend PBX features to several popular desktop applications. These include an extension to make calls from Google Chrome browser pages and a plug-in to place calls, synchronize contacts and send faxes from Microsoft Outlook.

All features are controlled by resellers from the SkySwitch Dashboard, such that end-users can be granted access to specific functionality in a way that enables resellers to logically control billing for bundles.

“Previous Skyswitch mobile apps did not provide the complete integrated experience that we feel is required to compete in today’s market,” said Jayson Jones, VP of Business Development at SkySwitch. “In order to meet the demands of our Resellers and their end users, we leveraged the ReachUC product to create the solution that we had envisioned. Not only does it deliver a very rich user experience, provisioning and management is simplified within the SkySwitch Reseller Dashboard.”

Louis LeBlanc president of Orgeon Phone Systems and longtime SkySwitch reseller said, “ReachUC, is a welcome upgrade to an already impressive white label hosted phone solution. Our clients are thrilled with the iOS Call Kit integration and well as the ease of use and voice quality it provides. The addition of mobility, along with the consistent feature access across deskphone, mobile, and desktop is impressive.”

SkySwitch Launches Video Surveillance as a Service (VSaaS) for White Label Resellers

Resellers Can Increase ARPU Selling New High Growth Service to Existing Base

Lakeland, FL – March 28, 2017: SkySwitch recently announced at their Vectors 2017 User Conference that SkySwitch resellers can now generate more revenue per user by offering Video Surveillance as a Service (VSaaS) to their existing SMB clients.  The new service is available immediately to all SkySwitch Resellers and can be fully managed from within the SkySwitch Reseller Dashboard.

“At SkySwitch, we recognized that the deployment model and target market of VSaaS is almost identical to UCaaS,” stated Jayson Jones, VP of Business Development of SkySwitch.  “IP-enabled cameras are deployed on the customer premise and managed from the cloud in much the same way as SIP phones. This similarity will enable UCaaS resellers to leverage their existing sales, service and support infrastructure to capture a new revenue stream.” SkySwitch has done the heavy lifting to integrate the new video system with its existing service delivery platform. Ordering, provisioning, and customer account management can all be handled without resellers having to learn an entirely new system.

A short video showing the ease with which a new VSaaS endpoint can be deployed is available here:  http://www.skyswitch.com/skyswitch-launches-vsaas/

In their report, Global Video Surveillance as A Service Market 2017-2021, Technavio’s analysts forecast the global video surveillance as a service market to grow at a CAGR of 27.45% during the period 2017-2021.

According to Eric Hernaez, President and Founder of SkySwitch, “Like almost everything else in the office, video surveillance is moving to the cloud.  We want to give our channel the tools that they need to capitalize on that trend.  Our goal with the new VSaaS product line is two-fold.  In addition to raising ARPU for resellers, it will also serve as a point of differentiation.   Now a reseller’s sales team has an exciting new product that can be used to start a conversation, and yet another means to set their  service apart from other hosted PBX and UCaaS vendors.”

SkySwitch Makes Amazon Alexa Skill Available to White Label UCaaS Resellers

Resellers Can Now Offer Voice Enabled Dialing to End Users with the Amazon Echo

Lakeland, FL, March 16 2017:

SkySwitch, the ultimate white label UCaaS platform for resellers, now integrates with the Amazon Echo and Amazon Alexa to voice enable dialing from the SkySwitch UCaaS platform.   The integration – which is available to all SkySwitch resellers at no charge –  is the latest example of the many ways that SkySwitch allows resellers to differentiate their private-branded offerings from competing hosted PBX services.

SkySwitch UCaaS users with an Amazon Echo can now ask Alexa to initiate phone calls using voice commands.  The SkySwitch Web Centrex PBX Skill is now listed in the Amazon Alexa Skills Department, and can be found by searching for its invocation name ‘PBX’.  The skill can be enabled  and activated for free by linking it with any PBX user’s portal credentials.

More details and short video demonstration of this Alexa skill in action can be seen at  http://www.skyswitch.com/bringing-amazon-echo-work/

The skill supports commands such as:

“Alexa ask PBX to call George”

“Alexa ask PBX to call 1000”

“Alexa ask PBX to call 17477778100”

Call recipients can be specified by first or last name if they are included in the caller’s Contact list.  Calls can be made to any extension number within the caller’s office or any telephone number. Alexa can also be used to listen to voicemails by calling the user’s mailbox.

According to Jayson Jones, VP of Business Development for SkySwitch, “Using SkySwitch and the Alexa skill is like having a personal assistant. With handsfree commands, a busy executive can simply request Alexa to dial an extension, co-worker, access a conference call or connect to any number. This makes for a powerful C Level solution and and clearly demonstrates the SkySwitch white label UCaaS value proposition.”

In the near future, SkySwitch plans to enhance the Alexa Skill with support for additional UCaaS functions, such as sending SMS messages, convening conference calls, setting call forwarding rules, and more.

MyPillow Rests Easy with Davco and SkySwitch

National Campaign gets custom call center to maximize agent productivity

Lakeland, FL, July 19 2016: When Mike Lindell, the founder and inventor of MyPillow,  wanted to improve the return on investment for his company’s television advertisements, he went to SkySwitch reseller Davco Technologies with a vision about how his company’s inbound call center should work.  Lindell had an idea for a call center that was a mix of in-house and at-home agents that incentivized both equally in order to maximize the ROI of his investments in major national television and radio campaigns.

SkySwitch reseller Davco met his requirements by building an application on top of the SkySwitch Contact Center as a Service (CCaaS) platform that allows both in-house and at-home agents to see calls as they enter the inbound call queue.  Agents can take a call by clicking an Answer button in the application, and calls are delivered to agents on a first-click basis so that there is always an incentive to take a call sooner rather than later. This approach has drastically reduced the answer time and rewards agents that are both efficient and effective.

Davco also built the ability to stagger the inbound visibility by performance.  By tying the call center metrics to MyPillow’s ERP system, the company now has the ability to score agents by answer time, closing percentage, average order value and customer satisfaction – each with its own weight in the overall score.  Using this score, the Davco application routes calls based on prior performance so that higher performing agents (if available) get the chance to take calls before the lower performing agents, continually encouraging all agents to do their best.

According to Lindell, the results have exceeded his expectations.  “The system that Davco built for MyPillow with SkySwitch is a true game changer.  Since word spread about the new MyPillow work environment job-seekers have been stacking up like “cord wood” to apply for open agent positions because we give them the flexibility to work when and where they want, and they know that hard work has tangible results here.”   David Povolny, CEO of Davco Technologies added that “the solution would be equally valuable to any call centric organization that could benefit from the ability to scale call center staff in a flexible and efficient way.”

The SkySwitch CCaaS solution is a true multi-tenant cloud service that delivers all of the features and functionality of an enterprise grade contact center platform in a format that maximizes a reseller’s opportunity for success.   According to Eric Hernaez, President and Founder of SkySwitch “resellers can leverage SkySwitch to empower any small business, such as a doctor’s office or a real estate agency, with the same advanced contact center tools used by the largest corporations.  More than that, however, by building on the system’s open architecture, resellers can create innovative bespoke solutions such as the one that Davco created for MyPillow.”

The SkySwitch CCaaS offering has an open API that allows SkySwitch Resellers to integrate and customize applications system-wide or on a per tenant basis.   With these options, it is possible to tightly integrate 3rd party applications, such as CRM or ERP, into agent desktops, as well as allow business customers to build and execute their own custom applications.
